When chartering a sailboat with Norton Yachts, you can always expect a clean and well equipped boat. We provide you with all of your linen and dishes. You’re only responsibilities are provisions and toiletries. We take very good care of our Charter Fleet because we want each boat to be exactly how we would like a charter boat to be.

The Charter Crew
Barry Newland – Charter Fleet Manager
Barry began sailing while in the Boy Scouts, where he rose to the rank of Eagle and was a member of Order of the Arrow. He earned his Electrical Engineering degree at Penn State and, pursued his interest in aviation while working for Boeing Vertol and then Texas Instruments where he designed advanced flight controls and avionics systems. Barry returned to Virginia in 1988 as division manager of a manufacturer’s representative company, selling material handling and motion control electronics. In 1991, he started a printing company and grew it for the next 22 years. Upon selling this business, Barry obtained his Coast Guard 50 ton Masters license and ABYC electrical certifications. When not working, Barry and his wife, Robin, cruise the Chesapeake Bay in their Hunter 41, Laughing Place.
Whitney Walton, Charter Coordinator
Whitney Walton was born and raised in Middlesex County, Virginia. She graduated from Middlesex High School in 2009 and went on to study Studio Art and Business at Christopher Newport University, where she graduated in 2013. Whitney’s family is made up of five generations of watermen who originally came here from Tangier Island in the 30s. She takes great pride in the waterman lifestyle and the culture of the Chesapeake Bay. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, kayaking, cooking, and being with her family. In addition to wearing the Charter Coordinator hat, Whitney is Norton’s Marketing & Communications Coordinator.
