Sailboat Charters on the Chesapeake Bay
You’ve been through the process of learning how to sail now TRY out the Sailing Lifestyle with Norton’s Sailboat Charters before you buy your own boat. With our Sailboat Charters, you can live the Sail Life without the commitment.
When chartering a sailboat with Norton Yachts, you can always expect a clean and well equipped boat. We provide you with all of your linen and dishes. You’re only responsibilities are provisions and toiletries. We take very good care of our Charter Fleet because we want each boat to be exactly how we would like a charter boat to be.
If you are interested in a private day sail with a captain, we offer that as well. Private Sails are a minimum of 4 hours at a rate of $100 per hour. Contact email@example.com to set up your Day Sail.

The Charter Crew
Mike Grose, Charter Manager
Mike completed his first sailing class (ASA 101) in 2000, on the Piankatank River. The compelling force of wind and water prompted him and his wife Joyce to move to Middlesex Count in 2002. Mike has a good knowledge of the Chesapeake Bay and can certainly assist with sailing itineraries, as well as vessel systems operation and vessel safety. His credentials include:
Certified Sailing Instructor–American Sailing Association
Qualified Virginia Boating Safety Education Instructor
First Aid / CPR – American Heart Association
Captain’s License – Master, including auxiliary sail,50 GRT, inland – USCG
Mike is also a staff officer with the Unites States Coast Guard Auxiliary – Flotilla 62, Deltaville.
Whitney Walton, Charter Coordinator
Whitney Walton was born and raised in Middlesex County, Virginia. She graduated from Middlesex High School in 2009 and went on to study Studio Art and Business at Christopher Newport University, where she graduated in 2013. Whitney’s family is made up of five generations of watermen who originally came here from Tangier Island in the 30s. She takes great pride in the waterman lifestyle and the culture of the Chesapeake Bay. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, kayaking, cooking, and being with her family. In addition to wearing the Charter Coordinator hat, Whitney is Norton’s Marketing & Communications Coordinator.
