Imagine being able to take your friends and family out on the water with confidence and skill, knowing that you’ve earned your stripes as a certified sailing instructor. With ASA Instructor Certification Standards, you’ll learn and expand your skills and experience, earning credentials from Basic Keelboat Sailing to Offshore Passage making, and everything in between.
Don’t worry if you’re not yet at certification level, the American Sailing Association conducts Sailing Instructor Qualification Clinics throughout the United States. If you’re at least 18 years old, have at least 3 years of sailing experience, teaching experience or can demonstrate an aptitude for communicating sailing to the novice and advanced sailor, and can perform to the ASA International Sailing Log Book Standards, you’re eligible to enroll in an IQC.
Norton Yachts offers the ASA Instructor Qualification Clinic throughout the year. Once you successfully complete your IQC, you’ll receive your Instructor credentials and graduation letter from ASA, and you can start teaching!
